Before you can bid you must sign in. Only registered eBay users can bid. To learn more about becoming a registered member, look for the Further Information link at the end of this lesson.
To bid, enter an amount into Your Maximum bid and click on Place Bid. A page will display that asks you to confirm your bid. When - and only when - you click on “Confirm Bid" will your bid be placed. Once the bid is placed, remember you have entered into a binding contract with the seller to buy the item should you win.
You will then see a confirmation page or an outbid notice. The outbid notice means another bidder has placed a higher maximum bid than you. But why were you outbid so quickly?
Whenever another bidder has placed a higher maximum bid than you, you will be outbid immediately.
